I’m Not Enough, But God Is

When people hear I homeschool, their most common response is, “I could never.”

I genuinely get it. Homeschooling isn’t easy. There are still days when I question whether it’s the best path for our family. I frequently feel inadequate and ill-prepared.

I’m not naturally patient. I’m not a trained teacher. I don’t always explain things well.

But God.

I pray daily that the Holy Spirit will speak to my kids through me.
I pray that God keeps molding and shaping me.
I pray for perspective on the hard days.
I pray my kids remember the good more than the hard.

I am so far from perfect.

Please don’t put me on a pedestal because I homeschool. I may have done it longer. I may do it differently. But if God is calling you to homeschool - if He’s tapping on your heart - He will equip you.

If you have a willing heart, and you’re open to God stretching you, refining you, and showing you where to grow…you can do this.

God will meet you in it.

It’s humbling.
It’s frustrating.
It’s requires constant adjusting, adapting, and improving.

But no one will ever love your children like you do.

No one will ever celebrate them like you will…
when they learn to read,
when something finally clicks,
when you see glimpses of God working in and through them.

And that’s what makes it worth it!

If God is trying to get your attention, but your response is, “I could never,” start here:
Pray about it. Ask God if this is something He’s calling your family to.

If so, remember: God doesn’t call the equipped - He equips the called.

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be willing.
